For my birthday, we decided to go to Bangkok, Thailand for a quick getaway. Bangkok is where I am from so it was great  to go back and celebrate with my Thai friends. Two of my other friends turned 30 as well so it was going to be an epic party.
Gareth has never been to Bangkok before so it was great to show him around my birth place:D.

We stayed at the Lebua Tower Club Hotel. If you needed a good time to relax and whine down on your holiday, this is definitely the place for you. Five star service and they have one of the best roof top bar/restaurant ; need I say more? It was exactly what I needed. We were lucky to get a table at the infamous roof top restaurant for dinner. It was an incredible experience that I would never forget.

I've decided to combined the photos from the trip together.

I turned 30 today! I can't believe this day has come. I feel so lucky and blessed to have made it this far in life and I have to say I've done pretty well for myself:D. You hear a lot of people say "by the age of 30 I want to be..." and for me, I feel like I have it all. This time really makes you think of how far you have come and what it took for you to get here. I've recently thought about it a lot! and I have to admit that I am absolutely happy right now.

My amazing partner, Gareth threw me an amazing birthday party and all of the people I care about came to celebrate this BIG "day" with me. It was everything that I had hoped for and more:) He also bought me the dress that I wore to the party. The dress was such a great fine. It's a Nicola Finetti dress that I got on sale from Myer. It was very flattering and comfortable to wear.
The party lasted all night, it was one of the BEST day of my life.

I attended the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show this year. I did both the opening and closing show. It was amazing to see some of Queensland designers and the brightest Next Gen talent in Australian fashion – including Camilla, Ginger & Smart, Dion Lee, Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Aqua Blu Australia and Scanlan Theodore presenting their new Spring/Summer collections. I also saw so many kinds of fashion amongst the crowd at the shows as well. It was very inspiring to see other people that love fashion as much as I do gathered together in one evening. And it was so much fun getting dressed up for the show! I also got to attend the after party;)

What I wore (opening night):

Dress -- Bec & Bridge
Scarf -- Hermes
Bag -- Colette
Boots -- Tony Bianco

What I wore (closing night):
Top -- Seed
Scarf -- Ted Baker
Bottom --Misha Collection
Clutch -- Colette

I had the pleasure of working with my good friend Patrycja as her personal stylist! It was such a fun session. We both were going to the upcoming Mercedes Benz fashion show and so she ask me for my styling expertise to assist her. Which I was more than happy to do:)

I also came across this article recently about 10 reasons to hire a personal stylist which you can read here http://wallstreetstylist.com/top-10-reasons-hire-personal-stylist-image-consultant/
It had such an amazing and important insights on why any individual should hire a personal stylist to improve on their image. It was a very good read.

I asked her to pick what she would normally wear on a night out [left] and I change it all up with a sexy silk loose blazer and tight black pants [right] • Creating a casual yet sexy look. Perfect for a night out🍸

Ueno Park, Tokyo, Japan

I had such an amazing experience in Japan during Cherry Blossom season:D It was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen! And I felt very lucky that we got to experience one of the BEST season in Japan. Now, arriving in Japan at the right time of the Cherry Blossom was super tricky and I have to admit we had one of the most challenging times having to book this trip. Because for those of you who don't know, the Cherry Blossoms only bloom for a week or two max! and if you didn't book your trip correctly, you can miss the whole experience! At least that's what the travel agent was trying to tell my partner and I when we booked this trip. We were warned that we could miss the experience depending on the year. So we were very worried... but as it turns out, luck was very much on our side!

It was definitely one of my bucket list to see the Cherry Blossoms bloomed in Japan and Im very happy to say that I can officially tick it off.

I have decided to combined all the photos from the trip together:) We went to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. The BIG 3 cities everyone must visit in Japan!

Mood board

This is my mood board for one of my assignments. I am so very proud of this board! It turned out better than I had hoped and Im very happy and proud of it:)

The assignment was to come up with a mood board for one of the characters from a film. And I picked Lois Lane from Superman. I needed to create a new and modern style for her that suited her everyday life. I picked some classic but essential leather pieces for her and made her look a lot more edgy and stylish. The palette I was going for was Autumn tone, warm palette with colours such as dark orange, brown, tan, grey, white, cream, light pink as I believe these colours will suit Lois Lane’s character well.

We had to think about her character a lot and and her traits. So mostly, I made sure that all the essential looks that I picked for her was modern chic with great style, but most importantly practical.

I felt like I nailed this assignment, and would love to own every pieces of clothing in this mood board.

In one of my assignments, I had to do an example flat lay and style an outfit to practice my catalogue styling skills. The outfit has to appear like it would if it was in a fashion magazine. It was very fun to choose my own outfit and style it by laying it flat to get the overall perfect photo. Although, there are a lot of tricks and tips involve to make the outfit looked appealing by making sure it had depth. I did learn a trick or two.

I also used the same outfit to go out to a fashion event later this week! The event is called Sisters Stepping Up and its a networking event for women who loves fashion and love owning/thinking about starting a small business. Its a great way to meet like minded women  such as myself and get the name Stylebyaila out there!

The Gold Coast for us Brisbanites is always a good spot for a mini getaway, especially on the weekends. Surfers Paradise is one of many infamous beaches to go  to if you are at the GC. And to be honest, it's one of my favourite spot to hit when I need a good tan in. As well as the Palazzo Versace Hotel. The lunch buffet is always amazing there and of course, I love to dress up to be wine and dine.

I have been wanting to wear this outfit ever since I got it online from Maurie and Eve! I saw it first on instagram, which is how I shop nowadays. Funny how things have changed when it comes to shopping doesn't it?
I absolutely love it, it fitted well and I got a few compliments on the day as well:). It is such a style that is chic and feminine yet empowering and sexy at the same time. I feel great wearing it! I paired it with a minimal nude sandal heels as I didn't want to take away from the dress too much and wanted the dress to be the main focus of the outfit. I had such a great time doing this shoot as well. It was quick and easy because we didn't want it to get in the way of our weekend, but I got a lot of good shots! It was the perfect start to a great weekend that was much needed.

I have decided to pursue my career as a Fashion Stylist! I have been putting a lot of thought into what I wanted to do next, what's the next step for me and feel that I have made the right decision! I have enrolled myself into the Australian College of Professional Styling which is an online course to become a professional Stylist. I figure with some guidance and my love for fashion, I will become a fully grown Stylist by the time I finish my course:)
I couldn't have done this without the help of my partner whom is very supportive of my dreams and future goals. I consider myself to be a very lucky women.

These photos are dedicated to me, a bit of self love can always go far;) Here's to the future and stylist me!

I had been eyeing this dress for a while now from Niki Belle, which I don't really understand why - because I don't usually go for this kind of dress and colour. But when it went on sale, I just could not resist! (it was a further 50% of sales) so I was glad that I held out this long until the appropriate purchase time came:D The last size they had on sale online was a SM - so I was pretty worried it wouldn't fit when it arrives (normally I take a size 8 - which is an S) but it fitted perfectly;) like it was meant to be!

I did this shoot a while ago with Jessica Bakker. We had a lot of fun doing this shoot. It rained beforehand and stopped right when we were about to start which was amazing! We needed the rain anyway, because it has been so warm and hot in Brisbane - so with the rain, it cooled things down by a whole lot, which made this shoot a lot easier and less sweaty to do;)

One of the locations that I always wanted to shoot was an old abandon railway line. And last week, we managed to find an old rail line near Murwillumbah that used to be the country rail link from Queensland to Sydney. But now its used for sugar crane transport - according to my photographer, Hamish who I wanted to really give him a shout out for finding me the exact location I had in mind:D I couldn't have asked for a better location!

I have been wanting to blog an outfit like this for a while. This outfit to me, pretty much sums up my style;)  I love the grey and leather look. This casual singlet dress is one of my favourite dresses to wear. I find it very comfortable and dressy enough to wear to a lot of occasions.  I got it from Foreign Exchange, my favourite clothing store in The United States of America. If any of you get a change to go visit America - you need to check it out;) . Add a leather jacket and you're in business for a good and chick street style look!

I was also glad that I chose to wear my boots out, because there was so much grass patch, rocks and insects lurking around the woods.. A city girl like me can never really get used to the woods;P

I have to say I had so much fun doing this shoot! I wish every shoot I do from now on could go as smoothly as this one:) The weather was perfect and the photographer was lovely to work with. I feel really blessed sometimes to be able to meet and collaborate with people that are
like-minded and friendly - my photographer for this shoot was exactly that! I had an amazing time doing this shoot with Jessica Bakker@https://www.facebook.com/jb.photography96 she has done some amazing work shooting for Style Magazine! I was very lucky to get her to collaborate for my blog.

I also love this outfit a lot:D It took me a while to hunt down a good plain white shirt that came in my size! I love hunting down clothes and actually finding it! I am sure a lot of females can relate to me for the things I do for fashion! And I would like to give a bit of fashion advice to some of you out there - if you keep thinking about the clothing item you are eyeing/have been eyeing for a while...go and get it!! because #1 - if you cannot stop thinking about it it means you definitely want it in your closet;) and #2 - if you missed out on it, oh how you will regret it! and I know some of you may think its not meant to be..but for me, regret not buying something you love is simply..tragic.

First of all...
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015 everyone! It is great to start my new year updating my blog;P - I don't really have any new years resolutions, though one of the things I'd like to focus on this year is my blog! and keeping it updated as regularly as possible:D

I did this shoot last year with my really good friend Adam Peters. It was the quickest shoot I have ever done so far -  because we both are busy people and had to stick to our busy schedules. That being the case, I actually tripped on my high heels and fell down like an idiot-_- leading to straining my right ankel for 2 weeks (yes everyone, I am that girl who cannot handle her heels and tripped face down and injuired myself:P) I couldn't walk properly for days!

I also hoped everyone had an amazing Christmas & NYs. For me, the most exciting thing about the month of December is the end of year sales that happens every end of year! I hoped everyone had their share of great bargains whilst shopping and amazing gifts:D
I went to this warehouse sales in West End and got lucky with cheap deals and bargains - so naturally that was the most shopping I did this year since coming back from my Europe trip.

I wish everyone the best for 2015 - May this year bring everyone peace, prosperity and success!

Hello all!

It's been a while (again) since my last post. I have to admit that I have been lacking commitment with my blog by A LOT:P and I can think of a thousand excuses as to why I haven't been consistently updating my blog; BUT at the end of the day..I have to admit in shame that it was pure 'laziness'.

On another note, now that I'm back to blogging again, I have to say -  I am ecstatically happy with my photo shoot this week:D

I had the pleasure in meeting and working with a very talented photographer whose work has been recognised by several publications, including Vogue Italia (PhotoVogue) Hamish @https://www.facebook.com/hamish.croker.page. It's great to work with an experienced photographer who has a creative vision and  knew exactly what direction he wanted to take with the shoot. Because honestly, half the time I have no idea what Im doing or how to pose properly. I can humbly say that I am no model. But for the whole 4 and a half hrs or so of taking posing instructions from this shoot - has made me feel a little bit like one:)

It has been really strange with the weather lately - what with the hail storm that happened recently here in Brisbane, damaging half the city and putting a dent in people's bank account because of the mass destruction of property with the effect of the storm. Sadly, I was one of these victims whose car was completed covered in dents by this hail storm - I was really worried about the weather. Nevertheless, thankfully during our shooting session it was clear blue sky -- until it started pouring down with heavy drops of rain as we were wrapping up.
We definitely got lucky;)

Personally, I never really liked taking portrait photos. If it were a few years back, I would’ve disliked my entire portrait photos outcome. I always feel that with my portrait, I can never portray my face and my expressions right - which is the most important element/purpose of a portrait photo. BUT, I had an opportunity to take some portrait photos last week with an amazing photographer Amelia @https://www.facebook.com/ameliajanesatoor?ref=bookmarks and of course I took the chance.

Amelia made the process quite easy and quick! I felt quite comfortable shooting with her ;) Not to mention, she was kind enough to wait for me like forever to get ready and be presentable for the shoot!

I chose to wear a simple and plain dress for this shoot – I feel it seems appropriate for the occasion. Im glad to say that I’m very happy with the shoot and the photos:) Amelia most definitely did a great job !!

About 2 weeks ago, I joined Model Mayhem, which I’d like to think that it ‘s a community that allows amateur/self startup models and enthusiastic photographers to collaborate.  Although, I don’t consider myself a model, I thought it was a good and fun way to meet other creative minds around the area to collaborate a shoot for my blog – which as it turns out, works really well in my favor.

As soon as I got approval for my profile to be on the site, I got messages from photographers around Brisbane asking if I’d like to shoot with them. Amazing;)!

So as a result, for this weeks shoot I had the pleasure of working with a very talented photographer Hank @https://www.facebook.com/LilianWangStudios from Lilian Wang Studios. I also was very lucky that Hank’s partner, Lilian is an amazing make up artist who’d agreed to do my make up for the shoot;).

I really enjoyed working with both of these lovely people and I’m so glad that my good decision to join Model Mayhem has led me to meet amazing creative people - and that the work we did together turned out  to be quite excellent. Well, at least I certainly think so;)

The weekend just passed has truly been a bliss. Especially, the day of this shoot. My sister, Aliescha, decided to take me out to 'spoil' -  since this month was my birth month.  We decided to go to Montville - one of the most touristy hinterland village spot around Brisbane and the coast.

Montville is well-known for its small village charm, its many different architectural styles representing Tudor, Irish, English, Bavarian, and Swiss (I found the iconic London red phone booth here - which I was really eager to take a shot with!).

Although, on our way to up the mountain, the weather was not on our side - rain started to pour down like there was no tomorrow! My heart sunk, as I thought it was the worst timing ever..I guess we're have to make the most of it (I started to imagine some 'rainy' shots for my blog may not seem like a bad idea...). BUT, upon arriving at our destination, the rain stopped completely! What good luck we have?!! We were in God's good graces after all:D

We had lunch at one of the local cafes - we brought our pup (Venti) with us,  so we sat outside - which after the rain, it got quite chilly.  I make an effort to take my dog out anywhere that's allowed and are dog friendly. Seriously, I get so jealous in the U.S or Europe, because people get to take their dogs everywhere! Shopping Centre, restaurants (inside), trains, buses..etc you name it! Australia needs to hurry up and get with the program!

After lunch, we walked around the village. It was a great scenery - the view from the top of the mountain was breath taking. I chose to wear something more on the casual side. I love these sandal heels I got a while ago from Nine West. Some people hate this kind of style heels because they say it cuts off their legs and makes their ankles look fat. Some even say they hate wearing jeans with this kind of heel. I disagree.

I believe this style of heels is sexy and feminine. I even wore jeans with it to prove that this kind of style heels can definitely work with any pair of jeans. And they are most certainly comfortable. Both jeans and heel.
I got this Chloé handbag during my Europe trip, and ever since then I cant stop carrying it! (everybody loves their shiny new toy!) I've been looking at this bag the whole first half of 2014 and finally made my decision to purchase one in Milan - which, to me, was decision well made:)

Its been a while since my last post! I actually did this shoot during my trip last month in Barcelona, Spain but I got busy traveling around Europe and wanted take a break. So I decided that Spain would be my last shoot in Europe and I would post this when I got back to Brisbane. I had the most wonderful time in Europe and I wished it'd never ended. But I am glad to be back home now and resume my normal routine;)

After Spain, we took a sleeper train to Paris, then London, Amsterdam and Berlin. I loved Paris! It is as beautiful and romantic a city as they all say. I remembered the feeling I had when I saw the city of Paris for the first time, it was on of the best travel feelings I could have. All I wanted to do was keep exploring this amazing city.

Barcelona, was also a very beautiful city. I started noticing the change of weather here - it got a lot cooler than in Italy and Monaco which was nice for a change.  The people were really friendly and helpful, it certainly has a different feeling to any other cities in Europe. The gothic inspired church La Sagrada Família is a must see, the  food market was a fun place to walk around and check out some of their amazing products, and the shopping was great! We did spend a lot of time shopping and walking around central Barcelona - taking in all the beautiful sights this city has to offer.

I have been blessed to have been able to travel around so much and have seen so many wonderful places around the world.  And during this amazing Europe trip I was really excited to see the city of Monaco because I only heard great things about this place - but to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect about the city. Although, all the movies that was filmed here always makes it out to be so beautiful. And It was! Monaco to me, feels like a small glamorous city with the most amazing coastline scenery you will ever see.

Everywhere you go in this city, you just want to take it all in and capture the beautiful sights in front of you.
We had lunch at the famous Cafe de Paris which was right next to the Monte Carlo Casino. The food was grand and delicious, the whole experience was great;D And if you want to shop in Monaco, be prepared to drop 'big money' here as all the luxury brands retail shops  are all located here as you would expect.

Also, I have never seen so many Ferrari cars in one day! As well as other prestigious automobile that was cruising around the streets of Monaco. It was really impressive to see;). We didn't get to hang around the beach, which I was a little disappointed but walking around the city all day was good enough for me:D

As the Roman once said "While the Coliseum stands, Rome shall stand; when the Coliseum fails, Rome shall fall; when Rome falls, the world shall fall".

When I walked in front of the Colosseum, I thought 'Wow, what a magnificent sight!'  The Colosseum was one of the ruins that I was most excited to see...and when I saw it, I could not get enough of it. I was glad I chose to do a shoot at the Colosseum - one of the most beautiful of ruins.  I was saving this dress especially for this occasion too. I dunno why, but when I imagine the colour of Rome, it was 'emerald green' for some odd reason .  And I was so glad I had my hair up, because honestly it was the hottest day in Italy!

Rome is such a mesmerising city! So rich of history.  There were so many elegant monuments /buildings to see -  and almost every place in Rome is infamous. But the best part is the shopping! (of course!). You can walk 2 steps and you will see either a shoe shop or a bag shop..it was on every corner of the city! It's like every girl dreams come true!
In addition to that, it was the summer sales in Italy too,  so most of the shops was on sale - even better!

But please do becareful with your belongings, because pick pocketers are lurking at every touristy spots...my sister got her wallet stolen twice now in Italy!! Other than that, Rome really did make an impression on me, I will most certainly come back and visit this majestic city again.

Good morning from Italy!! Yes, I am in Italy everyone;) I have always wanted to do the ultimate Europe trip and now here I am:D!! I guess dreams do come true haha. I did this shoot in Venice or Venezia, Itlay. Venice has always been my 'it' destination in Europe. I've always wanted to come here ever since I discovered its existance! It was everything I'd imagined it to be! It is such an amazing and beautiful city...when I stepped inside the city from the train station, it was like I was in a different world...I can only describe it as magical!

Ok, so Venice is a GREAT place to shop for leather goods if you want them in reasonably good prices. The market has so many variety of leather goods to offer, you wouldn't be able to choose for days! And the shopping strip is so amazing and unique! I love it;)

Also, the trains in Europe (Eurail) is AMAZING! We did first class, so it was even more amazing;) but seriously, I now understand what other people meant when they tell me I had to take the trains around Europe. I also now know why people such as J.K Rowling and Walt Disney come up with amazing ideas whilst on the train! The rides from city to city has been an incredible experience so far...and so convinient! I love it!

I can go on and on about my trip all day...I've only been here a week and a bit but I feel like I've been here forever! Im so glad I decided to do this trip with my family..so far it has been one of the most incredible experience of my life;D

Hello Hello!

Yes, you guessed it! I love LV! (who doesn't?) It is one of my favourite brands. I remembered the first LV bag I got was in Las Vegas 4 years ago. I got it with my own savings which I felt very proud that I'd accomplised something so amazing! haha

I had my hair redone yesterday, it came out pretty well;) Im so happy with the results! so I thought I'd do a shoot while I'm all pampered up! We were at the Gold Coast which is a beach city south of where I live. It was pretty windy yesterday but the weather has been really weird lately, so it was still good that we got some sun.

Afterwards, we went to this all you can eat buffet...it was soo good! We were there for more than 3 hrs... I ate so much I couldn't even breathe after a while;P but dessert was a MUST so I kept eating until I seriously could not fit anymore in! All in all, I had a pretty rad day;)

I love mixing and matching up colours for an outfit. Especially when the colours matches so well, it makes me feel so satisfying! I don't know what it is, but I have been attracted to the colour turquoise lately...so I thought today I'd wear my turquoise clutch, which matches my animal print kimono cardigan;)

I was out and about today, so I wanted to wear something comfortable as well. And my version of comfy clothes is a simple white singlet and a pair of one of my favourite jeans.

I always thought that if I ever made my own blog, I would shoot at James St. James St in Brisbane is like the "Upper East Side" of New York haha. The street is filled with classy and funky bars/cafes/restaurants as well as a lot of designer clothes retail shops. It has that high-end urban feel to it. I absolutely love this area, but I don't get to come here as often as I like so I thought I'd dress up a little bit for the occasion;)

Actually, I chose to dress pretty casually, but I reckon the white coat really dressed it up for me. Sometimes, it only takes one piece of clothing to dress you right up! And I love those heels! They look so fierce! and are pretty comfortable for that height. I love high amazing looking comfortable heels. It is definitely what every girl needs!

What I wore;
Top -- Topshop
Jeans -- American Eagle
Coat -- Zara
Clutch -- Mimco
Shoes -- Nine West

I pick Sunday as my first shoot! I had a really good Sunday;D Took my little doggie (Venti) to brunch and took a walk around New Farm neighbourhood, which is a really great street for eating out and dog walk. Plus, the weather was amazing! perfect weather for a photoshoot:).
The one thing I love most about Brisbane is the weather for sure!

I chose to wear something light, fun and playful. Although, it is still Brisbane winter and was kind of cold in the morning...a jumper would have been nice, but by midday the sun was out and it was pretty warm.

What I wore today;
Shirt -- H & M
Skirt -- French Connection
Boots -- Bonbon
Bag -- Nine West
